Are you a stumbling block to those around you? It is a valid question. And a point that God has put on my heart in my own life.
Those closest to us look to us for guidance and example. How often is the example you give one that reflects Jesus Christ's love? For me the answer to this question is: not near enough! The excuses for this are many, but not one is valid. Imagine yourself giving even one of these excuses to the Lord at judgment! Laughable if it weren't so serious a subject.
2 Peter 2:22 (New International Version)
Of them the proverbs are true: "A dog returns to its vomit,"and, "A sow that is washed goes back to her wallowing in the mud."
"
We are the pigs in this text. The real test is are you convicted enough to do something about it before you are standing before God giving account for your life?
Matthew 18:6
"But if anyone causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a large millstone hung around his neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea."
You don't have to have children to have an influence on them. Children watch and learn. What are you teaching them as they watch?
The Word of God is not to be taken lightly or applied only when you see fit. The Word is the absolute in history and in the future. "Christians" sometimes tend to bend to the will of the world, living in such a way as to be unrecognizable to a brother or sister in Christ. If this is you, search your heart for what God there is in you. Grab a hold of the God in you and let him increase in you. Living in the world and for the world will get you killed. And its a long hateful, jealous, depressing, empty existence without the God of Israel working in your life.
Life is short. But without Jesus in your life, it will be a lot shorter.
Because without Jesus in your life, YOU WERE NEVER ALIVE!!
God Bless you all.
Saul
